Thursday at Bosinver arrived to torrential rain, I had visions of a cosy morning in the cottage but J got on his waterproofs saying “the animals still need feeding Mummy!”
I must admit I did stay in and drink hot tea whilst the boys had their fun, they came back with duck eggs though which did make a wonderful breakfast – Farmer Dave's top tip is 1 duck egg to 2 hens eggs for amazing scrambled eggs!
The afternoon saw a visit to see an uncle that lives nearby and to purchase new waterproofs – great time to realise my jacket actually lets the water in! After a swim we headed out to the local pub The Polgooth Inn for tea.
I had heard really good things about the food there and even had some recommendations on twitter and they weren't wrong. Delicious food and huge portions left us with full bellies, we headed to bed hoping for better weather tomorrow!
A sunny day gave everyone a spring in their step, including Chalky! What a difference, blue sky and lovely and warm for our final day at the farm. We were all straight out to feed the animals and J spent a little extra time with each saying goodbye.
For the afternoon we headed into Newquay hoping to go to Holywell Bay Fun Park but sadly it was deserted…next door however we found the pitch and putt course – I knew we couldn't last a week without golf!
A glorious afternoon looking out over an amazing landscape playing the game we love!
Home for a final swim and our last evening relaxing in the cosy cottage. A lovely relaxing way to finish our holiday but it ended with one very sad little boy. He said it was his best holiday ever and he didn't want to leave Chalky behind, and we HAVE to come back next year!
In the next few days I'll give you my full review of the cottage and farm at Bosinver.
This was a review trip however all words and opinions are our own.
