Our Holiday in Cornwall – Day 3 was Wild!

Day 3 of our Bosinver Farm Cottages stay in Cornwall deserves a post to itself, we crammed in so much!

The morning began with J enjoying the fruits of his labour. He ate the duck egg that he had collected the previous morning and I reckon it tasted that much better because we didn't get it from a shop. It also started a conversation about why some eggs hatch and others get eaten, which was fun!

Next it was off to feed the animals and collect another egg, then down to the field to get the ponies, as today was pony ride day! Once they were brushed and ready and J had his hat on, he climbed upon Secret for his first ever ride. He had been so excited about this but had a little attack of nerves at first, a few minutes later and he was beaming and loving it. Such an amazing thing for children to experience, J has named it his best bit so far!

A quick change and we headed to Porthpean beach with Obi. A beautiful little beach with sand, rock pools, a couple of horses playing in the sea and quite sheltered. Obi loved running in the waves but was very cold afterwards! We walked along the coastal path (not suitable if you can't manage a lot of steps) to the next beach which was even more quiet and secluded and had another run around before home for lunch and to warm up!

Wild Kids is a weekly session at Bosinver run by Tatum and her Forest School. All the children went down to a clearing by the lake and had a wonderful time with nature. They made worm houses, springy fish, built a campfire and then toasted marshmallows on it and then at the end when the rain was pouring down Tatum helped J make a special magic wand. Many of the children were very young but they were all able to participate the same which I thought was fantastic.

As if we hadn't done enough we managed to squeeze in a trip to the swimming pool to warm up before tea.

Exhausted!

This is a review trip however all words and opinions are my own!

  1. Seaside holidays are brilliant even when it’s a bit chilly – getting cold then warming up again, especially in that pool, is perfect. Looks like you had a super time.

  3. Sounds like a fabulous place … we love Cornwall! It’s like a whole other world, isn’t it.

  4. Wow, I bet you all slept well this night?! I absolutely love Cornwall but I’ve never been at this time of year, so everything has always been stupidly busy when I’ve visited, and I may just adjust that next time we go – that empty beach looks blissful!
