Our Cornwall Holiday – Day 1 & 2

We have been looking forward to our holiday at Bosinver Farm Cottages for months, getting more excited by the week. The last few days before we set off and on the journey we couldn't help but worry that it wouldn't be as awesome as it looks, or that not all of those 100+ excellent reviews we had read were really true. Could anything be that good?

Well actually, Yes! We have only been here 2 days and have been blown away by the welcome, the staff, the facilities, the surroundings and Valley View, our cottage. I'll write a full lowdown on everything later but for now here's what we have already packed into our first 32 hours in Cornwall.

We finished the final 4 hours of our journey after a night in a Days Inn hotel, as we got closer the sky changed to a gloomy grey and the heavens opened! We practically fell over the entrance as it is so close to the A390 and convenient for getting about. We were a little earlier than the 3pm checkin time, but that didn't seem to be a big issues and gave us time to walk the dog around and stretch our legs before unpacking, we headed straight for the zip wire!

We dumped our bags in the cottage and then went for a bit of an explore around the farm, finding the animals, play barn, games room, playground, trampoline and thankfully the wellie shed! We popped down the road for some provisions (there are plenty of shops nearby) and then made use of the fantastic kitchen in the cottage.

After a good nights sleep in a comfy bed, and even the dog sleeping well, we picked up some fresh eggs from reception for breakfast and then headed down to see Farmer Dave and feed the animals. I was convinced that J would get all silly and not want to feed them but he got stuck in. We fed chickens, ducks, birds, sheep, goats and then bottle fed Chalky, which was a great experience! Then it was down to the field to feed the pony.

The rain was coming down again so we decided to give the new indoor pool a try. It is beautiful, bright with a funky ceiling, boxes to store your things, hot showers and clean…so clean. Not even a hint of a scum line in that pool. It was so nice that I even went in and that says a lot! Sometimes having worked around pools for 16 years can put you off even a quick dip!

After a real Cornish pasty for lunch we stopped by reception to find some things to do on a rainy day. We borrowed one of their collection of board games and then decided to brave the weather and head out for a walk to the village… Then made use of the handy hosepipe to wash down Obi on our return!

The team at Bosinver are really knowledgeable and keen to make sure you make the most out of your stay! we took some advice on tea and headed out to local restaurant Sams on the Beach. What a treat! We all had warm garlic shell on prawns to start and J learned how to peel them for himself and then I had the most delicious shellfish basque, and left just a mountain of shells behind! The boys ended their meal with Daddy and mini-me desserts.

Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Yes this is a review stay but all words and opinions are my own.
