Does anyone else ever wonder why they always go for the difficult option, instead of a nice safe route you go for the most challenging, you know to feel like you’ve really achieved something? This is me!
When I saw this shop I knew I had to create something to do with golf, it’s my golfing buddy Carol’s birthday this week and we are going away on a golf break so I though I could create her a Pinterest inspired present. My first thoughts were some cookies or cakes as I had seen some great designs, but then I had an idea, a stupid stupid idea – why didn’t I knit her a headcover, in her favourite colour purple?
I’ll tell you why, because I can’t knit! There is the challenge. From start to finish destined to be a disaster.
I knew that I’d seen some wool on a recent visit to B&M and in my mind, that meant I’d also seen knitting needles and accessories so I headed off to do my shop – check out the photos in my Google+ album.
It wasn’t until I arrived that I realised they literally only had wool, so we needed an extra trip for knitting needles. Once unpacked we got a little distracted with one of our purchases – a diy box with compartments…perfect for sorting Hama beads into their colours!
Knitting wise I don’t have a lot of experience, in fact I have never completed anything. I completely underestimated how long it would take to make this and the number of times I would need to start again after consulting Google for some tips! Many evenings I found myself sitting here on the bed hiding from the dog consulting the pattern.
Finally at 8am this morning I had completed it and then the search began to find a way to stitch it all together – which needed another trip to a shop. But here it is completed, I’m really impressed with myself, we might even try to make a pompom to finish it off. I’m sorry Carol, I have had to block you on Twitter so you didn’t see this! I’m now inspired to knit more stuff – watch out!
