Reasons to be Cheerful – Me and my Boy #R2BC

I'm sitting on the train as I draft this post. It's day 1 of 4 days off work and I'm feeling very relaxed. I have just put my auto responder on my emails and I'm determined to not answer too many calls over the next few days.

Next to me, my beautiful boy is bouncing up and down. We are on our way to visit Michelle and her family for the night and he is very excited! I have just told him that tomorrow we will be having a go at breaking some Guinness World Records, this news hasn't calmed him down much, quite the opposite!

Lasts week at parents evening I heard how well he has settled into year 1 and that there is now no sign at all of any lack of ability in P.E. His reading astounds me every day as he reads out road signs and notices that we see. In general he seems so much more grown up, sat next to me playing on the iPod Touch, headphones on, chatting away to himself.

He has grown in confidence of late, I think helped by the activities he now takes part in – tennis, swimming and of course golf! He is generally a very happy boy, a pleasure to be with and I'm really looking forward to spending these 2 days with him away from home, doing things he loves and seeing his 'girls'

I also can't wait for a good old chin wag with Mich and to see all the pictures from her ONEMums trip a few weeks ago.

Quite simply, these are my reasons to be cheerful this week, come and share yours too.

Because I don't have anything else to do, I've decided once again this year to join in with NaBloPoMo and will be posting every day this month. My poor little blog has been a bit neglected of late and I'm hoping this will give me the boost I need!
