Getting Back 2 Best!

Just over 7 years ago (in fact the day of the 7/7 bombings in London) my best friend announced that we were going to go to a Weight Watchers meeting that night. I did as I was told and embarked on a weightloss journey with her ahead of my wedding 10 months later.

I lost 35 1/2 lbs and earned myself 5 silver 7′s (each 7 pounds lost earns you a sticker) on my card – I was so proud!

Shortly after we got married I fell pregnant and all my hard work was undone. I have since never managed to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight and neither my wedding or engagement rings fit on my fingers which makes me pretty sad.

Thanks to the prompt from BritMums I am now back on the programme as of yesterday and looking forward to the new body I am determined this time to achieve. Overall I know I need to lose the same amount of weight as before but for now I’m aiming for my 5% goal in about 9lbs time.

I loved Weight Watchers before because you could actually eat whatever you wanted – you just had to count it, and part of me loves the whole looking up points and weighing stuff out that comes with the programme. In a way I find it quite addictive and I remember being glued to the message boards on the website every lunchtime at work looking for ideas.

This time, instead of meetings I’ll be joining in online, using my iPhone and iPad to track everything I eat and the website for the message boards and recipe inspiration. Weight Watchers have also kindly sent me a hamper of things to help me on my way – the bagels and crisps are pretty much gone already!

So as we all start to count down to Christmas I’ll be counting something very different indeed and hopefully will be able to treat myself to a new much smaller outfit for the office party. If you would like to join me you can join Weight Watchers for just £1 and trial the app for free by simply clicking on this special link.

There’s a whole gang of us trying to take up a little less space so follow the #WWBack2Best tag on Twitter and check the BritMums Website for all our updates.
